What Is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a proven, brain-based therapy that helps people heal from trauma and distressing life events—without having to relive every painful detail. It taps into your brain’s natural ability to process and heal when given the right support.
Through gentle guidance and bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping), EMDR helps your brain reprocess stuck memories, beliefs, or emotions. As the memory becomes “unstuck,” the emotional charge around it softens. What once triggered fear, shame, or sadness can become something that no longer defines or controls you.
Who Is It For?
EMDR is for anyone carrying emotional wounds—whether from a single traumatic event or the cumulative stress of years of being unseen, unheard, or unsupported. You don’t need to have a PTSD diagnosis to benefit.
